Family Living the Dream

Shannon and Andy and their 3 children had a dream. They wanted to “live off the grid” for a year and travel, live and work remotely around NZ in a caravan.  Shannon who is a primary school teacher was excited to teach her children in a classroom with “no walls; exploring and seeing what our beautiful country has to offer.”

They sourced a Dutchman Kodiak model in the USA that suited their needs, complete with a bunkroom and study desk for the kids.  Kevin arranged the purchase, importation, documentation and all the work in converting and complying the unit to NZ specifications.  As they wanted to be self sufficient, he arranged 800W of solar panels to be fitted. All this was working to a budget and by importing the caravan themselves through Cornerstone USA Imports, Shannon and Andy have saved themselves some $30K on the retail value of an equivalent caravan in NZ.

All this was done in a short space of time to meet deadlines and now this family of 5 are living the dream!
